"Great Peaceful, Atmosphere!" - What Patients are saying about North Boulder!

[Review by: Oldschoolsativa420, July 22, 2013]

"Went in yesterday for my first time patient visit. Upon arrival i noticed the place to very peaceful, quiet, and serene. perfect environment for unwinding after a long day at the office or at home. When i arrived i was greeted by the hostess/budtender who was very was warm, and helpful. Gave me the "Grand Tour" as i drilled her with a enormous amount of questions. I found that the bud tender was very knowledgeable on the large variety or various strains that they provide. I had plenty of 90 and 100% Sativa's at home, and just wanted to find something a little bit relaxing to work into my evening med strains. The budtender threw out about 5 or 6 jars of different Indica dominant strains. She suggested the "Prophet 77" as good choice, and i went with that! Picking this strain was not easy as there were so many to choose from. The variety, appearance, smell, and overall presentation was phenomenal to the least!!

My selective strain of Prophet 77 was very sticky and had quite a few really nice trichones, and smelt really nice.

So loaded up the bong (not to tight, not to loose) just right and took a good hit!

The taste was very good and aromatic the effects were relaxing and calm, but not couch locked calm! Really nice start the evening and get ready to wind the night down and get ready for bed!!

I will be back to check out some of the other Sativa strains that they have available, and they have quite a few to sort through!!"

THC Can Protect From Multiple Brain Deficits

[Source: MedicalJane.com]

Cannabis research has continued to grow in popularity in recent years, and it has recently been suggested that THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) offers protection for the brain.

In a study published in September 2012, researchers determined that a single ultra-low dosage of THC (.002mg/kg) applied 1-7 days before or 1-3 days after a neuronal insult can protect the brain from a number of cognitive deficits.

The deficit-causing insults that were explored were as follows: Repeated exposure to MDMA (ecstasy), carbon monoxide exposure, and anesthesia cause by pentobarbital, an anesthetic which is sometimes used for execution.

They found that the one THC treatment protected the brain from these cognitive deficits for 7 weeks.

A Colorado Pro Marijuana Pipe Shop Helps To Change The Way Insurance Companies Look At Ancillary Marijuana Businesses

[Source: PressReleaseLeader-July 22, 2013-Denver, CO]

North Washinton Envervors LLC, dba The 24 Hour Pipe & Tobacco Shop has been in a battle with insurance companies since it opened in February. Since this is a "Private Membership Head-Shop" (think Sams Club or Costco) for those twenty one years of age and older that allows cannabis smoking inside by it's members, it doesn't fall under "normal" insurance companies business coverage.

Thurlow Weed, President/CEO of No Excues Entertainment Inc (The 24 Hour Pipe & Tobacco Shops parent company) has been working with Doug Banfelder a Commercial Insurance Specialist at Premier Southwest Insurance Group in Scottsdale, AZ for almost a month an received this message from Doug this weekend;

"I’m still working on this for you, and we’re about to get a quote – the carrier asked for an amended application, which I’m providing, and I’ve persuaded them that you will be using an alarm company.

What really did the trick is that I found and forwarded to them a news article about WA state considering how they’re going to accommodate pot tourists… with smoking clubs… You and Thurlow are definitely ahead of the curve here.

In fact, now the carrier is working to create new apps for those opening these new types of business… so we’re trendsetters. J

Will have your quote for North Washington Endeavors by Tues or Wed next week.  Thanks so much for hanging in there, sometimes it just.takes.time…"

"This right here shows that cannabis legalization is here to stay." said Thurlow

Colorado Department Of Revenue Announced Members Of Marijuana Rulemaking Working Groups

The working groups for Colorado’s Amendment 64 implementation have been announced. Below is the info, which can also be found by clicking here:

Amendment 64 of the Colorado State Constitution and HB13-1317 directs the State Licensing Authority (SLA) to adopt rules for retail marijuana. The first step in the process was the adoption of the July 1, 2013 emergency rules, which established a robust regulatory structure for retail marijuana designed to protect public safety and prevent diversion of retail marijuana to minors. With those goals in mind, the SLA filed a Notice of Rulemaking with the Secretary of State on July 15, 2013 in order to adopt permanent rules for retail marijuana and revised set of rules governing medical marijuana.
The SLA encourages interested parties to submit written comments on the proposed rules, including alternate proposals, by August 15, 2013, so that the SLA can review comments prior to the rulemaking hearing. Written comments will also be accepted after that date, until the rulemaking record is closed following the hearing.
The SLA will accept all written comments but strongly encourages written comments to be submitted on Form DR 2477. The form is available on the Department of Revenue’s (DOR) Amendment 64 page, which can be found at: www.colorado.gov/revenue/amendment64.
Please print, complete and save Form DR 2477 as a separate document and then submit the Form via e-mail. Written comments and completed Forms DR 2477 may be emailed to: dor_ruleform@state.co.us.
In addition, you may submit completed Forms DR 2477 to:
Colorado Department of Revenue
Executive Director’s Office
RE: Rules
1375 Sherman Street, Room 409
Denver, CO 80261
Written comments will also be accepted at the rulemaking hearing and at all stakeholder working group meetings.

New Markets For Marijuana In Colorado

[Source: Zip420]

Almost all of us know that cannabis has been legalized in the State of Colorado, but what few of you may know is, that there are still some legal things going on and that some entrepreneurs are trying to make this herb, easier to purchase.

There are people like, Justin Hartfield, who is the CEO of a service that reviews some of the medical marijuana dispensaries in the city of Boulder and other places of Colorado, but now he is concentrating in trying to convince authorities to allow people to establish marijuana farmer markets, as he believes that this is the best way to sell marijuana in Colorado and also the best way for people to get the freshest herb.

"I got news for you: Marijuana is legal in Colorado, it is no longer a drug in sense. It is a plant. It is a commodity. There's no reason not to allow trade in it openly," stated Hartfield to the press.  Although, cannabis is still not legalized under federal law, the state of Colorado has already accepted this herb and now, it is up to entrepreneurs like Hartfield to find the best way to sell their product.

Colorado announces rules for recreational pot sales

[Source: Denver Post]

Detailed rules for how recreational pot in Colorado should be grown and sold starting next year were released Monday.

The state department that will regulate marijuana released more than 60 pages of rules for how marijuana sales will be licensed and regulated. The Colorado Legislature set broad parameters earlier this year, but many nitty-gritty rules were left to the Department of Revenue.

Pot has been legal since last year in Colorado, but retail sales don't begin until January. The voter-approved marijuana legalization measure adopted last year required the department to release rules by July 1. The rules released Monday don't apply to medical pot shops.

The rules require labels to include potency, expiration dates and a disclaimer that pot isn't legal outside Colorado and hasn't been safety-tested.

Recreational pot will also come with the disclaimer that "there may be health risks associated with the consumption of this product."
